Walter Smith - founder of Plastiform Packaging

Walter Smith opened Plastiform Packaging in 1958 in Brooklyn, NY with four employees and 2,000 square feet of factory space. He incorporated the business in 1960 and grew his business with the plastic thermoform packaging industry.

In 1984, George Smith bought the family business from his father when Walter retired. In 1994, George moved the company to the charming town of Rockaway, NJ, which offered a more convenient location (close to I-80), more warehouse space, and a readily available workforce. The new location lets us have the equipment, warehousing, and on-hand stock to handle jobs of all kinds.

“I love this business as my father did,” says George, who runs Plastiform with his partner and wife, Kathleen. “And, as my father always said, it’s a service business that’s all about making customers happy. That’s what we do.”
